“progress”

My personal life has been really unstable and crazy lately - thus my focus art wise has been rocky and pretty non existent. I am working on a lot of different things right now …mostly trying to sort out my thoughts and feelings while finding a positive outlet.

Right now I am working on a piece while listening to Best Coast’s new album, The Only Place (because it is the greatest thing ever), and I cannot seem to get My Life out of my head (let’s be honest…the whole album is on repeat). It has been a big influence lately - as Megan said “that album is like 35 minutes of someone reading my journal aloud that I can dance to.” (I may have paraphrased)

There will be a lot of juxtaposed city buildings, mountains, and interiors coming out of me lately as I dream of things that were and are still to come…

Custom order backpack for Scott. I call it the Grocery Getter, lots of back padding for uneven and heavy loads. Wide padded straps help distribute the weight. French seams combined with the hand waxed canvas make this pack super waterproof. Cute pencil pouch in the outside pocket!

It was silly of me to think I could finish this piece in a timely fashion while also working 40ish hours in three days &helping the family I work for prepare for their trip to China…however, here I am, with two weeks off (including a much needed trip to Florida for a week) and my artwork is spread out in front of me. There are copious amounts of coffee (per usual), Screaming Females, and candles that smell like freshly baked vanilla cupcakes. Yep.
