2. &3. lonely thoughts &phonecalls you will never make (details) - hand stitching &illustration, coffee dyed handmade paper, and recycled handmade paper on handmade cotton paper.

It was silly of me to think I could finish this piece in a timely fashion while also working 40ish hours in three days &helping the family I work for prepare for their trip to China…however, here I am, with two weeks off (including a much needed trip to Florida for a week) and my artwork is spread out in front of me. There are copious amounts of coffee (per usual), Screaming Females, and candles that smell like freshly baked vanilla cupcakes. Yep.

I finished this ring tonight… and I love it too much to sell it. This may be the beginning of me actually wearing some jewelry from time to time. 

It’s a piece of quartz surrounded by pyrite dust topped with a brass triangle.

You know… like any sane and normal human being who is moving back to New York in twenty nine hours …I am here drinking my second cup of coffee painting and sewing…because who sleeps anymore anyway??

Right now I am trying to finish up 1/3 of the commissioned piece and hopefully begin on the 2/3 part of it. I also am currently working on artwork for a friend’s band! …and doodling things for KW in the midst of it all because I miss him and won’t see him again until the end of March.

Yesterday I spent the day making paper in my bathtub. I dried it with a blowdryer and an iron. This is a sneak peak! ♡ edit: So I wanted to put it out there that the idea of a ‘diy papermaking’ zine has been thrown around a lot. I am still in the deciding stages…and with my upcoming bolt to New York I am not sure how things will fall into place time wise. I will keep yall updated whenever something is figured out. ever. xoxo

Preparing some materials for a new batch of paper I am making this weekend! I am attempting to experiment with more text from novels in the paper…and my partner gave me sunflowers so I also would like to experiment with those in the paper making process! I will keep yall updated !!
